Local Engagement

Cultivating Community Connections

At Elmvale District Garden Enthusiasts (E.D.G.E.), our commitment to community engagement is more than just planting flowers—it’s about nurturing lasting connections and celebrating local heritage. One of our proudest contributions is our longstanding involvement in the Elmvale Fall Fair, where we sponsor and support several categories in the Floral Exhibits Competition. This cherished event brings together gardeners of all ages to showcase their creativity and love for horticulture, and E.D.G.E. is honored to help keep this tradition thriving. Our dedicated volunteers plan, plant and do the regular maintenance on 21 vibrant planters around Elmvale as well as the gardens at Heritage Park on Hwy. 26. Thanks to Springwater Township for watering and fertilizing regularly. Through this and other initiatives, E.D.G.E. continues to cultivate strong ties with our neighbors, promote local pride, and inspire future generations of growers—because community growth, like gardening, flourishes with care and collaboration. 🌼🌾

At Elmvale District Garden Enthusiasts (E.D.G.E.), we’re committed to empowering the next generation through hands-on learning and real-world experience. High school students are invited to earn volunteer hours by participating in community gardening projects, helping with events like the Elmvale Fall Fair, and supporting local beautification efforts. These opportunities not only nurture a love for nature but also develop leadership and teamwork skills. To further support young learners, E.D.G.E. has a Bursary Program through Elmvale District High School, offering financial assistance to students pursuing post-secondary education in horticulture, environmental science, or related fields. Through education, encouragement, and community involvement, we’re helping young people grow—literally and figuratively. 🌼📚
