Weekly Elmvale Farmers’ Market

The Elmvale Farmers’ Market Opening was on June 11th with new vendors and returning ones to offer shoppers unique and affordable options.  The local library also had volunteers with books for sale as well as the Fire Department to the delight of the children who walked away as Jr. Firekids with their fire hats.  E.D.G.E. (Elmvale District Garden Enthusiasts) were invited for the opening and we had lots of perennials, annuals, shrubs and free information for the adults.  This year we had a garden of chalk for the children to draw their favourite flowers in the garden and also we invited the children to plant a marigold in an ice cream cone.  This was a fan favourite and we had many future gardeners leave with a smile.  The market vendors and shoppers were entertained by several musicians and one was even playing her accordian on stilts.  Check out the market on Thursdays at the Community Centre Parking lot from 3-7.  You can shop local and have a great time!
